Our Story

Williamsburg Area Meals On Wheels was formed in 1974 to fight hunger and to serve the growing needs of our community.

At the heart of our organization lies the daily delivery and meticulous preparation of hot, nutritious meals for vulnerable adults and families residing in the Williamsburg area. While this essential service is foundational to our mission and serves as a critical lifeline for many, it represents only a portion of the comprehensive support we are proud to offer. Our dedicated volunteers, who bring compassion and enthusiasm to their roles, not only provide these nourishing meals but also foster companionship and emotional support, creating meaningful and lasting connections with our clients. These committed individuals are devoted to ensuring the overall health and safety of those we serve, working collaboratively with complementary organizations in the Williamsburg area to identify additional resources and services that may be beneficial. Together, this holistic approach enables us to meet the diverse needs of our community, going beyond just food assistance to truly uplift, empower, and enrich the lives of those we assist in profound ways. Through our combined efforts, we aspire to nurture a stronger, more resilient community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
